Sadhana is our Saturday morning buffet of all things yoga.
Most people know Ashtanga as the strong, sweaty, flowing style. It is that. But the word itself means eight limbs — the whole path of yoga, of which posture is just one part. So alongside the breath-led Ashtanga sequence, each Saturday weaves in the rest of the practice: mantra to open and close, mudra to settle the hands and the mind, and meditation to sit with what the movement stirs up.
Ashtanga is a practice of repetition. The same sequence, the same breath, week after week. That sounds simple. It's also where the magic is. When the shapes become familiar, your attention is free to go inward, and you start to notice how you show up on the mat — and off it.
Over six Saturdays you'll:
Learn the foundations of the Ashtanga method, step by step: breath, bandha (energetic locks) and drishti (a steady gaze)
Build the practice week by week, from Sun Salutations through to the closing sequence
Chant the traditional opening and closing mantras (no singing voice required)
Explore mudra and meditation as part of the practice, not an add-on
Take home a simple daily practice, so the six weeks become a true 40-day sadhana
Is this for me?
Yes, if you're curious. You don't need to be flexible, strong or experienced with Ashtanga. Jason teaches it the traditional way — one breath, one step at a time — and every posture has options. Ashtanga is a practice, not a performance.
