Find Your Feet: A summer Community Yoga series for young people

You've just finished a big year. Maybe the biggest one yet. Now there's a summer between you and whatever comes next.

Find Your Feet is three Sunday sessions designed with young people in mind, and open to everyone, to use that gap well: to slow down, come back to your body, and leave with a few simple tools you can actually use when life gets loud.

The sessions

Sun 6 Dec — Land.

The year's over but your body might not know it yet. We'll focus on grounding: feeling your feet, slowing your breath, and switching off go-mode.

Sun 10 Jan — Breathe.

No resolutions, no pressure. You'll learn a couple of breathing techniques you can use anywhere, from exam halls to job interviews to 2am overthinking.

Sun 7 Feb — Carry it forward.

Before school, uni or work kicks off, we'll put together a short practice that's yours to take into the year.

Come to one, or all three. Each session builds on the last, but stands on its own.

Never done yoga? Good.

This is made for you. No flexibility, gear or experience required. It's about an hour of gentle movement, breathing and rest. Mats provided. Wear something comfy and bring water. You're always allowed to skip a pose, take a break or just lie down.

Who can come

  • 16–25: come solo or bring a mate

  • 12–15: come with a parent, guardian or older sibling

  • Everyone else: this is for you too. Come with the young people in your life, or on your own. The tools work at any age

Pay what you can

Young people, pay what you can, including nothing. Adults, we suggest $10+ if you're able. Every dollar goes to Headspace Wollongong.

Why Headspace Wollongong

Headspace Wollongong is a free youth health service for 12–25 year olds in our region, offering mental health support, GPs, and help with work and study. Partnering with them over summer means young people get to experience some everyday wellbeing tools, while our community backs the professional support that's there when they need more.

Why we're doing this

At The Pantha Way, we believe that if everyone practised yoga, the world would be a better place. That includes the next generation. Yoga gave us tools for steadying ourselves long before we had words for it. We want young people in Port Kembla to have those tools too, and to know there's a community here that has their back.

Reserve Your Mat

Find Your Feet is a wellbeing class, not a mental health service. If you need support, contact headspace Wollongong on 4220 7660 or visit headspace.org.au. Kids Helpline (up to 25): 1800 55 1800. Lifeline: 13 11 14. In an emergency, call 000.
